My name is Sofija Pećanac. I was born on 9th September in 1952 in Bečej. I finished primary school in Bačko Petrovo Selo and secondary school ( Teacher´s Training Course) in Sremski Karlovci. I have been living and working in Mileševo since 1975. Besides love towards children and my profession, there is one more thing I am particularly fond of – cherishing Vojvodinian traditions. A small bag, filled with food or some other necessities, carried on the back, across our lowland, with no ornaments or decoration, has always been a challenge and inspiration for me. I wanted to make it look more beautiful.  That small bag is the forerunner of today´s backpack – which is necessary, funcional and fashionable. I make  bags using various decorations: small cloths, threads, strings, wood, leather and God –knows what else. So, the small bag has become: a bag, a handbag, a bag for special occasions, sports bag, small, big......
